Fail-safe axial 360 ° EMI/RFI PROFIBUS field connection by Provertha
The robust Axial (180°) 360° EMI/RFI PROFIBUS bus connector with internal cable clamp for field assembly using freely definable cable lengths expands Provertha’s extensive I-Net connector portfolio. The bus connector is specially designed for applications with stacked interfaces where neither right angle nor angled cable exits can be used. The spring washer under the Allen screw cares for vibration-proof locking at the PROFIBUS interface, whereas the Allen head enables locking at constricted installation sites. The full-metal housing with special shielding design ensures 360° EMI/RFI shielding and allows the use in raw environmental conditions, e.g. in industrial automation, railway technology, and power stations.
Important criteria for PROFIBUS modules with D-Sub interfaces are simple and fail-safe connections as well as error-free data transfer. This is secured by the specially designed EMI/RFI proof full-metal housing, the massive shielding clamp for a safe low-resistance shielding connection, and the vibration resistant cage clamp terminals for the PROFIBUS single wire termination.
Color-coded cage clamp terminals in the PROFIBUS wire colors red and green care for a failure-free wire termination. Pre-assembled non-losable lock screws simplify the field assembly. Installation disruptions because of screws lost by mistake at the assembly site now are a matter of the past.
Bus termination with PROFIBUS specified resistors is done by an externally operated lever switch. The bus connector is specified for the maximum PROFIBUS DP data rate, 12 Mbit/s.

UNC 4-40 Allen screws lock the connector to the PROFIBUS interface. The D-Sub connectors comply with quality level 2 for 200 mating cycles.
